CADERNOS AZUIS – SOUTO MOURA

Cadernos Azuis is an individual exhibition composed by 91 sketch notebooks hand drawn by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, produced during his 40 years of career. In the presented sketches we can identify some of the most prestigious works of Souto de Moura, as well as contests and other projects that were never built, as also small pieces of design, projects without clients or ideas for himself. In this sense, they are intimate notebooks that accompany the architect in his daily life and where spontaneous notes, reflections, concerns, doubts and design intentions are recorded. Notebooks that show how drawing is an essential tool for communicating with ourselves and others, and a way of understanding, interrogating, and transforming the place.
